The first edition of The DiscworldChronicle was published in August 1997. It was the magazine of the Discworld Convention and replaced the original magazine, The Ankh Morpork Interesting Times. Typically 4 issues were published per volume in the months between Conventions. This auction is for magazines in Volume 2 – published for the Discworld Convention being held in 2002. The magazine appeared between August 2001 and August 2002.Available at the time to Convention members only, the magazine had extremely high production values with colour covers featuring artwork from Discworld artists including Paul Kidby, Graham Higgins and Stephen Player.Along with update for members about the Convention the magazines featured articles and stories from those associated with Discworld.Production of the Magazine continues today for the Discworld Convention (volume 5 onwards) but is now more web based. The first two volumes of the Chronicle were published when web based publication was still complicated. Paper production of each issue was a maximum of 900 issues so these magazines are a real collectible.For anyone interested in the history of Discworld Conventions these are a must have – The Discworld Chronicle has set the standard for Convention publications and the high standard of the publication continues to inspire Conventions today. CONDITION All the magazines are unread and in extremely good condition. The covers have survived being stored flat since publication. For something over 5 years old, they are in excellent shape.
