The reproduction praying hands are inspired by the original lengendary Italian sculptor, A. Santini. It stands approx. 8 inches tall and sets on a black base which is 7 by 2 3/4 inches and weighs approx. 2 1/4 lbs. It is made from oxolyte which is pulverized marble and resin. I think oxolyte is now known as bonded Carrara Marble that comes from the Northern Italian Quarry of Carrara. After the praying hands are removed from the mold, they are hand worked to produce the detailed finished sculpture with the Santini logo label on the bottem of the base. The praying hands age gracefully and often attain a lovely warm patina that looks very much like ivory. They are in mint condition with no cracks or chips and imported from Italy. I do my best to give accurate and complete description. If you have any questions, feel free to email me. The praying hands come from my smoke free antique and gift shop. Thanks for viewing my item.
