Military Radio Antenna AS2109/PRC was designed in the 70's as a replacement for the PRC-77/25 Antenna System. The AS2109 is made up of 3 parts. The AS2109/ PRC Antenna Element is a telescoping antenna (in 6 parts), and is 104" long. It was designed to serve a similar function as the AT-271. The Ab-1037/PRC Antenna Spring Section is similar to the AT-892. This spring section is far superior to the AT-892. The heart of this antenna is the Antenna Base AB-1036/PRC. This base and the entire AS2109/PRC can be used with any Military Radio that utilizes the PRC25/77 antenna system. The base bends to a preset 90 degree angle so that it may be utilized in a prone position. The threaded stud of the base is 5/16X24 thread. You can mix and match any of these accessories with each other. The PRC-25/77 Blade Antenna will fit on the AB-1037. The base is excellent for use on the PRC-117 series of radios, with or without the Harris Antenna Adapter. The base will also work with the PRC-70, PRC-25, and the PRC-77. The knob that activates the pin to tell the radio which matching circuit to use is marked "3UP(CCW arrow)" meaning raise the pin when in the 3 foot mode and "(CW arrow) 10Down" meaning to lower the pin when the antenna is in the 10 foot configuration.
