This Pre Columbian Brown Pottery Toad Artifact, in very fine condition for its age, no chips, cracks, dings, repairs or damage of any kind. The pictures do not do this toad justice, it looks much better in hand. This little toad is approximately 1, 1/4" tall, 1, 1/2" wide, 1, 13/16" deep with a weight of 37.7 grams. If you look closely you will notice nice clear details, its little web feet on both front and back, nice eyes and mouth with a small hole in its center, you can even see its little nose. It must have a clay pebble inside, when it is shaken, it has a soft gentle rattle, there are two other small holes behind its back feet. This piece is rare, we have all seen and heard 3 legged vessels rattle, but that rattle sounds more like a small rock, plus they are much bigger. This small unique piece will make a very fine addition to any Pre Columbian collection, you can show it with pride and a smile. I am a member of the AACA, also a member of the Collectors Society.
