....Very Reasonable Reserve....Nice Quart Pontil Bottle....1820's for your bid we have a gorgeous "mallet style" pontiled black glass bottle from old Charleston,S.C.(1820's)The bottle is thick black glass and stands10" tall.(Quart) The neck area is heavily whittled and t are lots of seed and teardrop bubbles.The collar and lip are excellent.T are no chips,cracks or damage of any kind and some pontil residue remains.This bottle was recently dug from a Charleston,S.C.privy.If you are looking for an authentic old "mallet style" pontiled bottle for your collection,this is an excellent one to have.The bottle is as found,rinsed out and would clean to attic mint condition.This is one of the nicest bottles we have ever dug.We rarely use a reserve but on this bottle we must,sorry for any inconvience.I have heard these types of bottles referred to as,mallets,squats and porters.A quality bottle straight from the diggers to you.It doesn't get any better than that for provonance.It was dug in the historic lowcountry of South Carolina by my wife or me,guaranteed.It is from our private collection and absolutely authentic.We are honored to share our collection with you.Check our feedback and bid with confidence.Thank you for preserving America's history.Please be aware of the many fakes and reproduction relics on eBay being sold as authentic.If read more
