Two-page autograph letter signed (ALS) " Faithfully yours, Theodore Roosevelt" , February 27, 1917, Sagamore Hill imprinted stationery (written on 1st and 3rd leaves), to Harold Howland of The Independent in New York City, in full: Anything that concerns your family concerns me; and moreover I loved your dear father, as did all who knew him; and I mourn for him and for all of you.� My association with him - and with you - was a source of peculiar gratification to me; and I felt that I was a better man because of this intimacy.� His memory is a heritage of honor for his children.� With sincere sympathy, and very hearty good wishes. Accompanied by original mailing envelope in TR's handwriting.� Uncommon handwritten letter from Roosevelt with touching content.
