Lovely piece of Victoriana. What appears to be a studio picture of a couple-dressed in Victorian clothing. The man has a suit on, looking quite gentlemanly with his pocket watch chain showing. The woman is in black Victorian dress, somewhat severe, sitting in a beautiful carved chair. This must have been a family heirloom because this was put into a fabric frame with blue and white silk embroidery around oval opening and beautifully stitched gold and white flowers around. Hung by a blue ribbon tied at the corners. Backed with cardboard Measures 10 x 8. Not pristine-linin has aged and some dirt spots-may wash right out. The original ribbon/hanger could be replaced if one choose. Its still functional-just slight fraying in places and old. This piece is probably 100 years or more. Nice photograhic victoriana antique textile piece.
