Prewar Standard Gauge Lionel Blue Comet Set #396E from 1931-1932. Sold for $70 new. 400e Steam Locomotive & 400t tender with 420 Faye, 421 Westphal, 422 Temple. This is one of the most beautiful and desirable prewar toy train sets! Complete matched 3 car set with stamped brass journal boxes. I could only include 12 photos but have many more of this lovely set. The 400e steam engine has a quality replacement MTH frame. Paint color match is spot on, match perfectly with blue tender base. Steamchest is original but restored to match. Boiler front original, excellent condition. Very little playwear on engine and very clean with bright shiny trim, some small blue touch ups on one edge of cab roof (hard to see) and a few chips on inside of cab roof. Wheels all original except for one replaced front truck wheel which matches well (but can include an original if wanted). All wheels excellent condition. Motor completely disassembled and serviced, as well as the pendulum e-unit. Runs great. E-unit usually sticks in forward but that may free up (haven't run it much since motor servicing) Headlight and boiler light work 400t Tender is in near excellent original condition. Latch missing on coupler but will include new latch or a new coupler. 420, 421, & 422 Passenger cars are all in excellent condition with very little playwear. Clean bright read more
