This is a delicate fine china tea setting by Noritake. I believe this is pre-WW2 manufacture based on the mark - I haven't been able to match the pattern. The mark says "Noritake, Hand Painted, Made in Japan " and has a 'M' in the center of the wreath. The coloration is just wonderful - shimmering blue-purple with gold floral trim and the cups have a white opalescent finish on the inside. The pieces are very thin and are wonderfully proportioned. The set consists of: Teapot with lid, Creamer, Sugar bowl with lid, 6 - 8" plates, 4 cups, 6 saucers. T is a chip to the spout of the tea pot and the tea pot has some repair see photo, otherwise the set is in very good condition for its age.
