Greetings: Presented today for your bidding consideration is this wonderful Primitive, Hand made Yarn/Wool Winder. A move to smaller quarters necessitates the disposal of some of our most treasured items, and included among them is this very unique hand made yarn winder. It came from a farm in northern Wisconsin, and has been in our possession for many years. We have used it alternately to store magazines, rag balls, mini-pumpkins and gourds, Christmas greenery and decorations, towels, and fall foilage. Let your imagination run wild, and you can probably come up with many more uses. Originally, it was used to wind yarn/wool as it came off the spinning wheel. What makes this one unique, is the hand forged working mechanism. Typically, these were made out of wood. This piece probably dates from the late 1800's to the early 1900's, and would make a proud statement in any primitive setting. It measures about 16" x 11" x 5" With a low starting price, and NO RESERVE, you have the opportunity to become the proud owner of this charming piece of primitive Americana. With Christmas just around the corner, this would also make a very thoughtful gift for that special someone in your life. GALS...why not print this and put it by his coffee cup in the morning....you never know what might happen. Thanks alot for looking, Happy Holidays to all, read more
