This auction is for a set of 6 Primitive Vintage Quilt Easter Eggs. This is my own pattern and design. I cut the eggs from a vintage cotton quilt. I collect old quilts and love to add those that are more of a cutter quilt to my pieces. They measure approx 5in x 3 3/4in wide. They are large ornies and are just the sweetest eggs for Easter or Spring. Really, they could be left out year round. Now this quilt has worn through areas in places, but not large areas, just and t It is a vintage white background, with pink fabric that has been blanketstitched around in yellow, on top. They are really tiny stitches!! This was all done by the original quilter.I wanted to coordinate a fabric for the back and found a beautiful cotton ticking.It is chicky yellow with rose stripes. Very unusual for ticking fabric.It coordinates beautifully with the pink fabric, and yellow stitches on the front. I also drew some stars and cut them from wool felt fabric and stitched them to the egg with a primitive stitching in black cotton floss. The colors of the stars are moss green, chicky yellow, drab brown, burgundy, bubble gum pink, and deep blue/lavender.I added a button from my huge button collection that I keep in a rusty old can,(way before rusty was the in thing..he he) I indented the button a little for definition They were completed with a heavy sprinkling read more
