She always likes the things I make (reproduction primitive antique furniture is my forte), and most of the things I make are more than pretty good. But this...This is my best in 38 years of sewing, painting, and crafting, and I just love the way this little girl looks and feels. I know you will, too. So for your bidding enjoyment is an original sheep doll from The Lambing Suite of the Somethin' Country Workshop in Ankona, Florida. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please allow me to introduce to you ~ Gjertrud. Gjertrud, her little brother, Bjørn, and her sisters, Hverta Gryn and Inga, are visiting the Workshop from Norway. The winter temperatures have been in the 70's lately. Gjertrud says that's summertime temperature in Norway. She and her little sisters have been enjoying the warm weather by jumping and running all around the fields chasing butterflies and making fun of Bjørn whose been lying by the pool trying to work on his tan. The last photo is a group shot the lambies took to send home to their friends, but this auction is only for Gjertrud . Bjørn, Hverta Gryn, and Inga are available for adoption in separate listings. Gjertrud was made using vintage materials right down to the thread, and is stuffed with batten and/or wool. She stands a proud 5" tall and is about 5" long. Beneath her beautiful, thick wool coat she looks just like one of my other dolls which was fashioned after a Victorian Era child's toy. So even if you "sheared" Gjertrud 's fleece, she's still beautiful underneath! Her soft, pure, untreated Icelandic wool was sent to me by a very special sheep mom in Burfjord,Norway .
