* ADA *A Wool Doll and Her Pincushion Oops-a-Daisy That made me blush! Hi and Welcome I made this one of a kind, 21" dolly from a pattern in Maggie Bonanomi's newest book, A Day at Sunnybrook. As usual I made some changes and instead of muslin I made Ada from soft, white wool that I soaked in a pot of hot tea which made her skin tone just perfect. She is filled with carded, lambs wool. I styled her hair using a long hank of natural, flax fibers and hand stitched her face and gave her dark hazel, button eyes. Ada's arms are wired and can be bent to your liking. I weighted her flat bottom with steel shot so she'll sit stable just about anywhere you want her to be. Her feet are weighted also and her legs are pretty flexible so you can pose them, too. I made her dress from from a sweet, tiny print, Primitive Gatherings fabric. It fastens in the back with hook and eye fasteners and over the top of that I stitched 2, adorable, vegetable ivory buttons that are cut to look like flowers. Her undies are made out of a soft, vintage, damask napkin with a bit of tiny lace around the pants leg hems. Her dress and undies are removable but her black, felted wool slippers are stitched on and can't be removed. She also has a tea stained, cheesecloth shawl.
