You are bidding on a primitive log peavey. The tool measures 63" in total length. The handle is made from some type of pine limb and is 2" in diameter at the large end and 1-1/2" in diameter at the smaller end. The handle has been around for a long time and has numerous surface marks and some splits from age and dryness, but is still a solid piece of wood. The metal end was hand forged by a blacksmith and is made from heavy duty steel. It measures 7-1/2" from the handle to the point and has a 4" hook. It is in good condition and is secured to the handle by a quarter inch bolt and a 1" wide metal band.If you are looking for a very nice primitive tool to add to your collection, this is certainly it. This is a one of a kind type of item that only comes along every couple of years.
