~ PRiMiTiVE Prudence Merriweather Doll ~ Up for auction today is a very prim Prudence Merriweather. This Pilgrim gal is a large 22 1/2" doll made from an awesome pattern by Peddler Hill Primitives. She is made from lightly stained muslin. I handstitched her eyebrows with brown thread, and her lips with dark red thread. Her nose is sculpted and her eyes are handpainted with acrylics and artist pencils. Her hair is needle felted raw sheep's wool. Her fingers are sculpted and she has painted on shoes. She's wearing an apron over her dark brown Puritan dress and I painted "I Will Praise The Name Of God With A Song And Magnify Him With Thanksgiving" on the front of it. She has handsewn vintage buttons on her bodice and muslin bloomers. She comes with her basket of Indian corn. The basket is a 6"H (with handle) Nantucket basket and I placed a few Indian corn sprigs (made of foam and husk) inside. The replica mini Windsor colonial chair she is sitting on also will come with her to her new primitive home. It measures approx. 15" H x 8" W and is stained wood which is painted black and then sanded to wear out all the right spots. :) She fits in this awesome colonial read more
