Wool Sewing BirdTable Clamp Pincushion Hi and Welcome Today I'm offering this table clamp, bird, pin keeper that I designed and made from 2, rich colors of over-dyed, textured wools. One is called Italian leather and the other is deep russet. The bird is 7" long from the tip of his beak to the tip of his tail. I inserted wire in the tail part so it can be bent to your liking and the wings are attached with old buttons and can move up and down. The bird is holding a 1+1/2", wool filled strawberry in his beak. There is a lot of pretty embroidery stitching on the bird and also around the perimeter of the 2 tuffits. The bird is stitched to the 2, stacked, tuffits, that are securely attached to the top of the clamp. All pieces are filled firm with carded wool. I also made you the mini, penny rug from a double thickness of same wools so the metal clamp doesn't mar your table. It measures 4+1/4" x 2+1/4". The sturdy metal clamp opens to fit up to a 1+3/4" table or shelf and the overall height of the piece is about 11" when the clamp is closed. From your table-top to the top of the bird is about 7".
