The exquisite eggshell-blue evening gown, made up of many delicately hand-sewn sequins, and special laces and satins, was based on Princess Diana's own favorite Catherine Walker design, which was purchased by The Great American Doll Company at the famous Christie's auction for Diana's dresses in 1997. This exclusive Royal Relic was obtained at the famous Sotheby's Auction of the personal effects of The Duke and Duchess of Windsor in February of 1988 and is authenticated as part of Lot #1967-9 from the auction. Through a new patented process, your particular fragment has been permanently encased in a multicolored embroidered holder and hand-sewn into the fabric of Princess Diana's gown, secreted within the folds of her long chiffon train.
