Hi. Up for viewing is 1 LIFE-LIKE PROTO 2000 ALCO FA-1 release : Item # 23440-1 GULF MOBILE & OHIO GM&O #750 maroon / red / yellow trim / black freight scheme American Locomotive Company (ALCO) FA-1 non-dynamic brake 4-axle POWERED made in China "blue box" release era This particular engine is powered and has not seen operation at all. However, when I tested the motor it ran very erratic either direction and just quit outright with the power still on. I'm not an expert but it's either poor electrical pickup or a defective motor. There's also a possibility 1 of the axle gears is cracked (I'll include a pair of Athearn 60024 gears for replacement) inside 1 of the trucks. I am breaking up this FA-1 A/B set so the units can be auctioned separately. I want to call this to your attention if you do bid. I use a MRC Tech2 transformer with Kato track as a test bed. Body and Detail parts are in excellent condition. Shell detailing is crisp. UPC Code: 077071234405 . This engine is from my model rail collection and it has never seen formal operation. It has: Kadee-like couplers mounted front & rear, 5 pole motor with low amp draw, dual machined flywheels, DC motor, all-wheel drive, 100 factory-applied parts, close-coupling, working diaphragms, weighted, glazing, unit re-work required ,DCC conversion possible: DCC symbol shown on box
