PT KENIN HOT GLASS, Off Hand, Rod made 2.6" or 65 mm Diameter This marble in the "DICHROCHINIO" FAMILY, is made from a translucent blue center. 8 canes were applied to the exterior of the hot glass. The mint green to white canes were fused glass with stiff white interior and translucent mint green on the exterior. The panels after fusing in the first fire were annealed. Then heating them to 950 F and picking them up for work in the glory hole. The panels were attached to a blowing rod and heating in the glory hole, then placed in the glass furnace to coat them in clear crystal. The tube of glass then was twisted after application of super delicate colored stringers to them as depicted. Spun and drawn out to a long tube of corkscrew canes. All that work was done in a similar way with the red canes as well. The even spacing between the canes for design. Under the canes, prior to application to the marble, panels of gold dichroic were applied, Next to the gold, electric blue dichroic panels. Then the canes were applied to the exterior of the piece and manipulated to a sphere as you can see. The marble was attached to a pontil rod for final forming and when disconnected, left a very slight indent on one end that is fire polished smooth and clear.
