A Belen ( On the way to Bethlehem ) Plato de Navidad de Puerto Rico de 1984 ( The 1984 Puerto Rican Christmas Plate) Limited edition-numerated by Rubén Moreira The 1984 Puerto Rican Christmas Plate from Sterling House depicts the journey of the Blessed Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem, they were to register in Caesar Augustus census. This beautiful scene was painted by the distinguished Puerto Rican artist Rubén Moreira, and its reproduction for this collector's plate served as a POSTHUMOUS HOMAGE to his great talent. Moreira was a distinguished muralist and one of the best examples of his work in this genre were the murals he created for the library of the Psychiatric Hospital in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Rubén Moreira died on May 21,1984; months before the emission of this plate. His absence left an enormous vacuum in the cultural and artistic life of his beloved Puerto Rico. This plate is number 4,566 and is in very good condition. It has 7 1/2 in. diameter. The Sterling House Christmas Collection Plates are the most famous in Puerto Rico and were produced from the early 70's to the late 90's. No chips nor cracks.
