A GREAT PURPLE and SUPERIOR SPARKLE!--BIG MICA FLAKES in this BIG SLAB. Super PATTERNS TOO! YEP--it's pretty TRANSLUCENT too! With a RASPBERYY HUE--Definately Cool. Lepidolite is----Potassium Lithium Silicate Hydroxide Fluoride (and I thought Lepidolite was a bit of a mouthful). It is an ore of Lithium and a member of the Mica family. T has not been lapidary quality material ever appear on the market until recently and I'm told t is not much around. The ore itself is relatively scarce and Lapidary quality seams within the ore are even more scarce. This material is Triboluminescent! WOW-huh. Wonderful Bright Purple color and large Reflective Sparkles throughout. The little White "Dots" are Big Mica SPARKLES . The beautiful PURPLE Color has a bit of delightful variation to the shades and is "soft"---pleasing to the eye-great depth too. In some specimens like this one, the Sparkles are BIG! Lepidolite is relatively soft, great to work with and polishes easily. The Slab measures 5" by 4 1/4"+ and is 1/---5/8" Thick A Very Cool, BIG 420 Grams!
