In Feb. 2004 Purvis Young was hospitalized with congestive heart failure. After everything was taken care of Purvis had to stay approx two more weeks for further check-up. Purvis was released on 3/24/2004 and this date is 100% because I wrote on the back of the tray (the one with the police cars) "last lunch in the hospital going home". In the last weeks in the hospital Purvis was allowed to paint and draw in order to pass the time. Purvis was visited by several friends and family who would bring him books paint, glue, paper and markers. Purvis also utilized the daily menu that came with his food to paint on. As you can see, the menu has the room number and the legal name of Purvis, "Pervis Young". As you can see in the pictures the menu is also attached to the book. Purvis would use the tray the food came on and would glue different drawings on it. All of these pieces were acquired by me directly from Purvis.
