this is a very nice looking piece,i dont know much about it apart from the base support is missin,should stand on a base with circular holder for the ball to sit in,suppose you could make one easy enough as you can see pictures what it should be like if you type in franklin mint newton telescope,it measures about 20cm long,looks like brass or gold plated metal and possibly leather,the ball is very heavy,not sure if this is a working telescope,i think its probably just a decorative model.slight wear,probably just needs a clean,viewing and pickup welcome,it does have a couple of mirrors inside the tube itself.it weighs about 1.5kg. Please note the items I sell are antique or vintage and as such have been around for many years, they will show signs of use & wear and whilst I will describe condition to the best of my ability, everyone has a different idea of condition.
