18 Vintage R&L Cereal Premiums / Cracker Jack Toys - Astro Nits - 1960's! Description: These Space Nits were used in Australia as a cereal premium in the late 1960's or early 1970's. They were manufactured by the Australian company R&L (Rosenhaim and Lippmann) who made some of the most creative and sought-after cereal premiums ever. The individual Nits were inserted into Kellogg's cereals like CoCo Puffs, Frosties, Honey Smacks, Froot Loops, Riciciles, Lettabits, Strawberry Pops, AppleJacks, Puffa Puffa Rice, Corn Pops and Sugar Smacks in Australia. (I have included a picture of the back of the original Froot Loops cereal box below so you can see how they were advertised - NO CEREAL BOX IS INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION.) The Nits are pictured and described in the OUTSTANDING book by Craig L. Hall, "Breakfast Barons, Cereal Critters, and the Rosenhain and Lipmann Legacy."
