RAF Aircraft Clock - LeCoutre ChronographThis RAF 6A/3157 8 Day "Time of Trip" chronograph aircraft clock has a Swiss Jaeger LeCoultre 13 Jewel movement. It has full functionality, keeps excellent time and runs for a week on a full wind. The movement is marked, "LeCoultre & Co Thirteen 13 Jewels 8 Days". All the control knobs are present, original and in first class condition. All the case screws are present and original.These clocks were installed in the early V Bombers, Valiant, Victor and Vulcan, and probably other RAF aircraft of the early 1950's also. The 6A/3157 was the last totally mechanical clock ordered by the Air Ministry for the RAF.The 3 inch dial is perfect. The dial is marked "Time of Trip, 8 Days, Smiths, Swiss Made". The main dial incorporates a separate 12 hour "Time Of Trip" subsidiary dial. The hands, (five) including the centre sweep seconds hand, are all present, original and in good condition. There is a 2 colour disc (green/red) display above the 6 o'clock position which functions correctly as it should. The glass is perfect which has no cracks, chips or scratches. The all metal case is excellent. Impressed into the back of the case is a Military Arrow. Also on the back of the case is a sliding hatch to access the regulator.
