For auction is this sleeve-valved radial engine piston which is either from a Bristol Hercules XVI which was used to power Handley Page Halifax, Short Stirling, Bristol Beaufighter and Avro Lancaster (in limited numbers) or a Bristol Centaurus (Hawker Tempest Sea Fury etc). The piston has a diameter of 146 mm and looks to have been converted for use as an ashtray, it is in good condition and would look stunning polished up. Thank you for looking. Just a quick note to say a knowledgable Ebayer has mentioned the possibility that this could be a Bristol Pegasus or Mercury engine with the crown machined flat, the Pegasus powered the Fairey Swordfish Vickers Wellington and Short Sunderland etc. and the Mercury Gloster Gladiator, Bristol Blenheim and Schneider Trophy entrants, regards.
