Offered with No Reserve Rare opportunity to aquire a fantastic condition World War 2 Era Royal Air Force Type 'E' flying helmet complete with 'H' Type oxygen mask and tinted desert flying goggles . AS worn By RAF Hawker Hurricane and Typhoon ground attack pilots! HELMET: Superb used as flown condition Type 'E' helmet. This is a partially externally wired example believed to be a first issue. These were introduced in 1944 for Middle and Far East use. Made from Airtex material they were favored by many pilots as they were comfortable to wear in hot and humid environments. The ear pieces are fitted and origional to the helmet.OXYGEN MASK: Type 'H' pattern mask first introduced in 1944. The green rubber section has been replaced as the origional has perished over time. The origional war time rubber section is included in the auction and can be seen in the last picture. All the mask straps, mic and clips are origional. I have added a brand new correct style hose (which was missing) to complete the set.GOGGLES: Fantastic condition desert pattern flying goggles with green tinted lenses. Still with the storage tin case. Dated 1943This helmet is understood to have belonged to a young RAF pilot who was based at El Adem near Tripoli in North Africa.
