Here is a support arm end-cap for a 3-inch post for a wayside motor car signal. Made by Union Switch & Signal (US&S). Cast iron or cast steel, the cap is 5 inches by 6 inches and weighs about 5 pounds, 4 ounces. The distance between the 5/8ths-inch bolt holes is 4.25 inches. It is in very good overall condition, with no cracks. CONDITION NOTES: The silver paint is peeling and cracking. There is surface rust on the underside.NOTE: I am listing this item for a veteran collector of railroad equipment so if you have questions or corrections, please send them to me and I will forward them.
