Up for bid is an Antique Circa 1939 RAILROAD PINBACK LAPEL PIN TIE TACK Made Of BRASS and an ENAMEL SURFACE With An OPEN C-CLASP. Given away at the 1939 PANAMA PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION EXPO AS PART OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC DISPLAY. It reads, "SOUTHERN PACIFIC JUNIOR ENGINEER". I consulted with a RAILROAD MEMORABILIA EXPERT at and sent him photos of this and another antique RAILROADIANA item I OBTAINED AT THE ESTATE SALE OF A RAILROAD ENTHUSIAST. The EXPERT APPRAISED THIS PIN AT $40 IN VALUE. He said that IT HAS THE ORIGINAL SOLDER SHOWING IT WAS PARTIALLY HAND MADE (please see photos showing how the pin or clasp is soldered onto the back of the pin.) This solder is NOT from a repair, but is ORIGINAL TO THE WAY THE CLASP WAS HAND AFFIXED TO THE BACK OF THE BRASS PIN. The clasp WORKS GREAT. Pin show wear commensurate with age (it is after all over 80 years old!) Has GREAT PATINA ON THE BACK AND FRONT!! Just a WONDERFUL COLLECTIBLE FOR THE RAILROADIANA ENTHUSIAST, ANTIQUE PINBACK COLLECTOR, EXPO ENTHUSIAST and THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD FAN!! DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS RARE RAILROAD ANTIQUE!! Shipped with USPS First Class. I base shipping costs on the dimensions and weight of the package. I use very low weight (but protective) shipping materials in an effort to reduce shipping costs. I would be happy to combine shipping on multiple read more
