The 200 members of the English Electric Type 4 (Class 40) were amongst the most distinctive of all locomotive designs to emerge as a result of the Modernisation Plan of 1955. The "Diesels In Depth" series is intended to provide the railway modeller and historian with detailed reference books on popular diesel locomotive classes. The informative text is complemented by a comprehensive selection of colour and mono photographs showing significant details of construction, the variety of liveries carried by the locomotives during their careers and the detail differences that mark out individual locomotives and particular dates. Hardback, 95 pages thick.Condition is between very good and good.
