Raleigh Chopper MK1 - Apple Green This bike is a beautiful early example of this classic British Raleigh Chopper design. The bike was produced in April 1971, the hub stamp mark (71 4) can be seen in the images above. The bike has been about 80% restored to a very high standard resulting in a head turning show bike look. The parts that have been left in the original condition are: wheel rims, seat post, chain ring and cranks please zoom in to the images. However in saying they are in original condition they are in fact in decent order, just a bit of light pitting to the chrome on the front wheel rim and some break rub wear to the rear wheel rim. The bike has been professionally re-sprayed by Rob Elkington in apple green. The process involves, firstly sand blasting with fine grit, etch priming, then wet spraying and finally finishing with a clear coat over the decals. The end result being an absolutely orgasmic and durable finish - one of the best paint jobs I've seen! The Chrome re-work was done in Birmingham by 'probably the best Chrome Platers in the UK' as they say on their T shirts.Fantastic attention to detail here: all the original nuts, bolts and washers have been re-chromed.
