Old VIETNAM era RANDALL MADE fighting knife in "as found" - uncleaned condition. This is not one of those mint knives - that spent the war in some drawer - but one that has been carried and used, and certainly could have served in Vietnam. Thick and stout blade is just shy of 7 inches, and is stamped: RANDALL MADE / SOLINGEN-GERMANY (some of the letters in the word RANDALL are weak from wear and light pitting). Blade sports the hump of the early blades, with a sharpened false edge. Thick and heavy brass cross guard is soldered to the blade and is tight. Original one piece green tenite handle is fastened to tang with 2 screws. The tenite shows some scratches and light bumps - and also has the initials J.E.M cut into it. handle is tight - exposed tang with the end rounded and drilled for a lanyard. From the tip of the blade to the end of the tang the knife neasures aboud 11 3/8 inches. Original brown leather sheath is sewn and rivetted - sadly the keeper strap has torn/ or been cut off - and is gone. The stone pocket houses a 2 tone grey stone - and the flap has a brown snap with the RANDALL logo. T is a tear at the top left throat rivet (thru 1 layer of leather - t are 2 layers) - the length of the rivet. Back of the sheath is rough leather finish with the RANDALL logo stamped into the leather on the upper part. Also the numbers: read more
