Rankin Leg Irons ... circa 1861-1865 ... A. Rankin, Philadelphia NO KEYLeg Irons, Civil War Era ...Manufactured by Andrew Rankin of Philadelphia 1861...Makers marks present on both shackles ...Hinge/Rivets tight ...There is a bit of grime present, as I have not cleaned them thoroughly ...NO KEY , but opened both shackles with a modified Hiatt handcuff key. Irons will ship in the UN-locked position ...NOTE ... Please Read: both shackles lock and un-lock, when locked they stay locked ... spring tension is weak/soft for both shackles, remember they are 150 years old ... a proper Rankin key and these will function just fine ...
