This piece is a Show Stopper! Before I go on about how beautiful it is let me tell you t is repair to the rim of this piece that does not in anyway effect the viewing and the rest is in excellent condition which I will thoroughly describe in a moment.The ewer measures 11" tall and 19" in circumference. It has a ribbed melon shaped body with a fancy high handle .The base is marked as shown and is mark 242 in Joan Van Patten's Collector's Encyclopedia of Nippon Porcelain , 6th series 2001.Ok, as for color and condition, the color on this is exquisite and my photos do not do it justice. The blue is cornflower blue and the coralene is lavender ,green and yellow.The condition of the coralene is super with only one spot of loss. I have supersized it and show a photo, it is on the back of the vase and is so insignificant. As for the repair I have shown a super size photo it. I did not notice this repair right away until I examined it closely. The repair was a piece from the rim that was put back in . It measures just under 1 1/2" in length and 1/2" in width. The inside of the vase was then touched up and the gold to the inside rim. The handle was not affected at all. The only other thing to mention is some gold wear to the bottom rim. This is a stunner and it books at 2,000 in the book I mentioned. I wish it was perfect but it displays read more
