RARE 1906 BALDWIN HOTEL BEACH HAVEN LONG BEACH ISLAND NJ POSTCARD Ex-Good condition rare old postcard of this one time popular Beach Haven LBI hotel of the past. The hotel building was destroyed by a fire in the 1960's and is now the site of Holy Innocents Episcopal Church. The Baldwin Hotel, a four-story building that occupied almost an entire block along Beach Avenue, burned to the ground. Twenty five-fire companies were called to assist and firemen spent days scouting the area for burning embers that threatened nearby homes. The Hotel Baldwin established the Beach Haven Railway. Postcard is postally used (1906 Beach Haven postmark), undivided back, no creases or folds and some corner wear/rounding. These LBI Jersey Shore postcards are sure to bring back some memories as well as being great collectibles. This is truly one of the more interesting and signifcantly collectible. Don't miss out!!
