is a very scarce Theater lobby or smoking lounge lamp from the 1950's. Base is brass colored, body of lamp is two different colors of Lucite and parchment or fiberglas. On the parchment panel are the typical theater masks that seem to be ceramic and have some wear of their gold plating. On the base of the lamp is a holder made of Lucite also to hold matches. The lamp is from an estate sale in Jamestown New York and the owner stated that it was from the old Winter Garden Theater in the city. The fiberglas period shade measures 18" across and 8 ½" high. Whip lacing on the shade is in very good condition. Total height of the lamp together is 27 ½" tall. Lamp overall is in very good condition with only some discoloration on the metal base. 3 way socket works fine and cord looks good. Glass shade holder has no cracks or chips. I have left the lamp in as-found condition except for some minor cleaning. A very scarce piece of American Theater and Jamestown NY history.
