Up for auction is a rare old lens switching Adlake Railroad light. It is 17" tall, without handle, and about 7" across the lantern body. It has a 5" clear, ribbed lens on the front and inside the lantern are two other lens, one red and one a greenish blue. T are two brass thumb levers on the right side that are pressed down to switch the colored lens inside. On the two inside lens it has, 3 1/2 Corning - T.R. Made in U.S.A. The burner pot is inplace and working. The outside wick turner is spring loaded and hooks over the inside wick turner. Above the outside turner is a sight hole for checking flame. The four legged base is cast iron and also a cast bracket on the back that must have slid into a holder. Everything looks intact and working and I don't see any cracks to the metal or lens.The light is uncleaned as found and I would say condition is at least good+. This lantern is quite heavy. I was informed by an Ebayer that this lamp is an old Marker Lamp for a locomotive or coal tender.
