RARE ANTIQUE BIRDCAGE BRASS CRYSTAL CHANDELIER Up for auction is a GORGEOUS antique French birdcage chandelier.. Circa early mid-century. This is SUPERIOR in workmanship and a Quality made chandelier. The chandelier was made by Moe Bridges and has BEAUTIFUL detail and DRESSED TO IMPRESS!!!. The frame is brass with a large birdcage design surrounding the center stem. The chandelier features MPRESSIVE carved details in the arms, flower petal bobesche that roll over on the ends, acorn finial and the original very beautiful ceiling canopy. The crystal prisms are very unique on this chandelier with 3 1/2" kite shaped prisms,oblong hexagon 4" prisms and 2" kite shaped prisms. (measured from top of bead to bottom of prisms) The birdcage portion of the chandelier is a large 12 1/2" in diameter at the widest point. The top and center portion tof the birdcage holds eight3 1/2" kite shaped prisms. The bottom portion of the birdcage holds four 3 1/2" kite shaped prisms. Each flower petal shaped bobesche holds six of the 2" kite shaped prisms and each under arm has a 4" oblong hexagon shaped prism and a 3 1/2" kite shaped prism. The prisms have beautiful sparkle! This is an eight light chandelier that has a hang of 32 1/2" and is a large 28" in diameter. Some assembly may be required. A very beautiful chandelier you will cherish in your decor!
