RARE C1900-VICTORIAN 12K ROLLED GOLD AQUAMARINE & PASTE BANGLE I am so thrilled to offer this is a EXQUISITE Victorian 12K Rose Gold bangle set with a LARGE FACETED AQUAMARINE surrounded by paste stones. This is extremely RARE due to the stones as most of these were smooth, not ornate or encrusted with stones like this , and the seven gems just add to its rarity. It is SOLID NOT HOLLOW.. so can be worn everyday.... This is truly Breathtaking and would suit the serious or fastidious buyer. HISTORY It is an expansion style bangle, and simply slips over the wrist, with the back sliding to allow ease of putting on.... the centerpiece is AMAZING it, consists of a center Aquamarine stone with three sparkling paste stones either side. The stone rests in a fine repousse setting which consists of scrollwork . and it is so finely detailed and I was informed this is all hand carved. It just oozes Victorian , and simply exudes that beautiful Olde Worlde charm. These were often worn by wealthy women and were often commissioned pieces..this is truly a nostalgic piece from a bygone era. These are becoming so very rare, and they command high prices on antique websites. This one is no exception due to its unique styling! It is Circa 1900 by design and styling It is not stamped that I can see, but I was advised this is 12 karat Rose Gold Shell, and the center scrollwork is Rolled Gold. The outer surface tests positive for 12 karat or higher.. and Antique Gold Shell is a thick outer layer of solid gold over an underlying thin metal core. These filigree stone bangles are highly sought after by collectors and this is like a high end piece. I have only ever had one other in my possession and this one had clear stones.. .. DESCRIPTION & SIZING The band is a fabulous antique soft rose gold color, that buttery hue with a hint of rose gold, and has that antique patina you would expect with quality Victorian gold jewelry. The centerpiece is a yellow gold color for a beautiful contrast. The stones are all bezel set and they have such sparkle.. the paste surrounding the aquamarine are so clear and eyebright.... and they may also be White Spinel which was known as the "Victorian Diamond". Just so eyecatching. !! I was informed the blue green stone is an Aquamarine, but I am unsure and it could be paste, but it does have occlusions like a genuine gemstone.. It is approx 10 carats ! It is a round shape, and has no clasps to worry about!. T are no visible dings or dents and is in FABULOUS antique condition and would suit the serious collector of unique antique jewelry. . The inside measures is over 8 " and it is 1/16" in width ....The centerpiece measures just under 2" in length by 1/2" in width... The feel of this bangle is fabulous, it has that smooth feel when putting it on, that usually is associated with solid karat gold. . . It really is beautiful , just an exquisite heirloom piece ... It weighs approx 10 grams which further adds to its appeal !
