This rare issue of "THE BLACK HILLS PIONEER" Vol.1 No. 38 was printed on Saturday, March 3, 1877. This complete four page newspaper is filled with local news of the busy gold mining town including an article w two men are attacked by a party of 11 Indians. Another large article is about a young Army Lieutenant fresh from West Point and his recent campaign against the Indians. T are several mining related articles and some great ads.
