This auction is for a Extremely Rare & Collectible DeForest Coil Set for an early Tube Radio made by DeForest Radio Tel & Tel Company New York City, USA. Also mounted on the board is a single tube socket with a tested good Western Electric102F- Vacuum Tube. The tube has a bakelite base with the following etched into it: Western Electric Made in USA 102F- and it has 4 brass pins at the bottom and a locator key on the side of the bakelite base. The coil unit consists of three coils, one remains stationary and the other two move in and out towards the center stationary coil by a gear mechanism connected to a knob on each end, all of the moving parts work very well and very smooth. The coil unit also has two cloth covered wires coming out of it and they are in excellent condition as well. The item is in excellent phyiscal condition but I have very little knowledge about the item or how it works and I have no way to test it to find out the working condition of it, I did however have the tube tested and it tested good and since this is vintage electronics it is being sold as untested and as-is. The winning bidder will be responsible for actual shipping cost, after packaged, the item weight is 10 pounds and it will be shipped from Akron, Ohio 44320.
