is a very rare and rather spectacular Green Feather or Shell Edge Watercress Basket, impressed with the Davenport Anchor Mark and dating c. 1810-1815. The 'cress basket stands on short, scrolled feet, and the piercings on both pieces match (hearts, leaves and circles). Pearlware glaze and pleasing medium green enameling on the edge. The interior of the basket and the inner rim of the undertray have molded basket weave decoration. The basket is 8 ¼" x 6 ¾" and about 2" deep; the undertray is 8" c 6 ½". The overall height of the piece is 2 ½". The 'cress basket and undertray are both in PRISTINE condition, one of the nicest pieces of green edge wares I have ever seen. T are no chips, cracks, lines, breaks or marks on it. The 4 little curled legs are in tact and t are not even any edge flicks, anyplace. scrolled legs. One of the nicest pieces of green edge wares I have ever seen! It would make a very elegant center piece for your table or sideboard. Buyer prepays, plus postage.
