Rare Guido Bitossi Vase Sottsass Era Raymor Italy **Click images for supersize view! Meticulously finished large vase in grogged stoneware with hand painted and spot glaze decoration made by ceramics legend Guido Bitossi created at his original Bitossi Ceramiche factory in Montelupo on the Arno River (now Flavia Montelupo) for the Raymor showrooms of American importer Irving Richards circa 1955... 12" high (30.5cm), marked as shown and in excellent condition -- very minor flake to the rim as shown, otherwise perfect! Aldo Londi, Ettore Sottsass, and a long line of greats were attracted to Montelupo as the Bitossi family factory was one of the longest continuously operating ceramics works in Italy, but Guido's original designs have a presence all of their own I think...
