Beautiful and a early piece made by the Famous silversmith H.W.&CO( HENRY WILKINSON ) A COMPANY THAT WAS STARTED IN THE 18TH CENTURY AND WAS THEN TAKEN OVER ( PURCHASED BY HENRY IN 1831). T are hallamrks starting with the candlestick and cup. The cup has 4 HALLMARKS on the side (HW&CO lion, S-crown , for 1838 and the sovereign and is about 2 1/2" tall and is not weighted and on the scale is about 3 ozs of heavy silver and sturdy. Next the chamberstick that is all handworked and cast silver is about 3" tall and has all 4 hallmarks and a change from the date 1838 to 1837 maybe around christmas for a gift it was being made. ( The chamberstick / candlestick is about 4.5 ozs and has all the original fittings with the dripper all handcast with its octopus scrolls around the upper rim. The total of silver for the candlestick is about 7.5 ozs. with no repairs or major problems .PICTURE (7) The bottoms of the inkwells are about 2" x 2" and hallmarked with the lion and HW&CO and are cast silver and all pieces fit tight together and i think were Made for easy polishing of the silver and the beautfiul tops are hallmarked with all 4 marks same and matching with the center candlestick. The glass is english handcut crystal and heavy and about 3" tall ( the one has a very minor bite on one edge of the diamond on the side. The tops to the inks are read more
