TODAY'S SPECIAL ITEM : Very rare and hard to find identification badge, designed to be worn by the man on his suspenders, provided by the LOYAL PROTECTIVE INSURANCE CO., Boston, Mass., it says: telegraph this number they will notify my friends. On the reverse side it says: to identify me follow instructions on other side. Measures approx. 2 1/2 inches x 1 3/4 inches. Metal. Very good condition. An older gent in our area said it was his understanding, and memory, that these ID badges were worn by men who did very dangerous work far from home, oftentimes on the railroad, and who purchased the accidental death insurance from this company...it was a way for them to feel sure that if something bad happened things would be taken care of for them. My elderly friend thinks this was probably 1920's era. Please note: I ask that you read the listing description carefully, and email ANY questions you may have regarding our items listed.
