Fantastic Masonic manual - Masonic Council Monitor - The Text Book of Cryptic Masonry - A Manual of Instructions in the Degrees of ROYAL MASTER, SELECT MASTER AND SUPER EXCCELLENT MASTER ... Published 1870 by Jackson H. Chase, 33rd degree Mason. This appears to be a first edition but not sure. ILLUSTRATED with Masonic symbols, floor exercises and the last few pages have excellent illustrations of Masonic jewels, clothing and "furniture".This fantastic book has an EXCELLENT BINDING It is cloth/linen bound and dyed in purple. Top edge of book fading to a brownish purple with strong gilt lettering. The gilt impression of the arch on the front of the book has "Chase" imprinted on the step. VERY SOLID binding and rare find ! It is also signed by it's previous owner James M. Porter - undoubtedly a Mason himself . This book was purchased in Maine years ago. I have never seen this publication and have been collecting Fraternal order items for years. Now thinning out my collection. This is a unique chance to own an EARLY AND RARE Masonic publication.
