The title of this painting is the" Parade Horse ". It is an original watercolor by the late Blackfeet artist, King Kuka. This painting features a Blackfeet rider on horseback in King Kuka's etal style. The frame measures 16-1/2 by 20 inches. The painting is signed by the artist. The painting is in perfect condition. It dates to the 1970's. King Kuka was one of the more important contemporary Indian artists. He studied at the institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe during the 1960's. Under the guidance of Allan Houser and Fritz Scholder, this group of artists usd in the contemporary Indian art movement. This highly creative group of artists included Kuka, Kevin Red Star, T.C. Cannon, Earl Biss, Sherman Chaddlesone, Parker Boyiddle, Bennie Buffalo, and others. King Kuka's work has won numerous awards and has been included in such noted collections as the National Museum of Man, Ottawa, Canada. The Deutches Museum in Munich, Germany, the Vatican in Rome. King Kuka passed away in January of 2004. From the reservation in Montana, Kuka is a recipient of over 50 awards going back to 1963. In 1993, he began painting originals for the Japanese government.
