Old Pharmacy Bottle found in the wall of an old victorian under renovation. This bottle has been in my collection a long time and I need to reduce my number of cabinets for the retirement move. I will be listing more bottles soon but for now I am letting the large ones go. This was a Friable Tablet which meant it dissolved at body temperature and was oval shaped for ease of insertion. back in the 1800's venerial diseases were rampent and anti-biotics were not yet around so they used what was available to easy the pain of advanced forms of the diseases with gross symptoms. This preparation was made by the HK Mulford Company and contained Morphine Sulphate . The bottle is large crude amber with H.K. Mulford Chemists Philadelphia embossed on one side it has a galvanized tin screw which holds an amber glass cap in place, like a mason jar. The H.K. Mulford company label was always very small and shaped as you see in the pictures which make finding them intact at all rare the bottle size is also hard to find intact after so many years considering how fragile thinner glass can be. Thanks For Looking and bidding!
