This is an auction for one 1920s/1930s SASIENI "Buckingham" Smoking Pipe, a rare Eight Dot! This is an estate sale find which we have researched online because we know nothing about pipes. It appears we are offering the eight dot pipe, because each side of the fabulous Sasienti pipe is decorated with four small blue dots (enameled?) in the shape of a diamond. This pipe is made of the most beautiful burled wood.......just lovely. The bottom picture is most indicative of this pipe's true color. Our camera has been dropped and broke and we are making due with our daughter's which doesn't take quality photos.One side of the pipe features the following: Sasieni in script, with a fancy swirling attached to and beneath the last letter of the name "i". Below this and in block letters: London Made, and then the patent number, 1513428. T are four dots on each side. When you look at the other side, the word "Buckingham" appears, also in block letters. Our research reveals that this pipe was made in the 1920s and 1930s and discontinued during World War II. The pipe measures approximately 6" in length. It is in great condition, we think, except for the bit, which has bite marks on both the top and bottom, with the top being slightly worse in bite-wear.
