Rare SCABBARD US M1917 Vietnam Shotgun BAYONET Enfield This is an excellent original U.S. Vietnam era M-1917 bayonet scabbard for the US 1917 Enfield bayonet as issued with the various trench shotguns in Vietnam. As you know, many trench shotguns were used by the US Navy Seals and USMC Marine Recon units. This scabbard is the rare US Vietnam era replacement for the fragile WWI ear leather version which did not hold up in the Vietnamese climate. The scabbard is like the US WWII Garand scabbard except it has no hooks to lock in the blade as on the Garand bayonet. Also, it is marked with an Ordnance Bomb proof over "M-1917" over "VZM". VZM refers to the maker. The condition of this bayonet and scabbard is excellent to near mint with little wear evident as seen in the close-up photos.
